Roboticist & UX Researcher
Maha Salem is a Senior User Experience Researcher at WhatsApp (previously at Google) focusing on International Research and Emerging Markets. Maha’s personal international background fuels her passion for international research; she has experience moderating user interviews in 3 languages (English, German & Egyptian Arabic) and has conducted UX research in over 12 countries.
Prior to her first industry research job at Google, Maha spent almost 7 years conducting academic research. She completed a PhD in Computer Science with a focus on Human-Robot Interaction at Bielefeld University, Germany, followed by a Research Associate role at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar and a Research Fellow role at the University of Hertfordshire, UK.
