Not Lazy, Not Weird, Just ADHD: Unpacking the Challenges of a “Different” Brain

Before the age of 25, Alex Partridge had built one of the most remarkable entrepreneurial success stories of the social media era. Co-founder of UNILAD and LADBible — two brands that between them amassed 300 million followers worldwide — Alex didn’t just ride the digital revolution. He helped create it, from a university bedroom, with nothing but an instinct for what people wanted to read, share and feel.

Since then he has become a Sunday Times bestselling author and the host of one of the UK’s most listened-to podcasts, ADHD Chatter, in which he has interviewed over 300 of the world’s leading clinical and academic experts. He has delivered over 400 keynote talks for some of the world’s most respected organisations including Formula 1, the BBC, Sky and British Airways among them.

What drives a mind capable of all of that? And what nearly destroyed it?

The answer, Alex argues, is the same thing. A neuroscientific reality backed by rigorous research that is quietly shaping the behaviour, performance and mental health of a significant portion of every workforce on the planet. Not an excuse. Not a trend. A measurable, evidenced phenomenon that the most successful organisations are only now beginning to take seriously.

Alex Partridge is not a survivor telling a cautionary tale. He is one of Britain’s most accomplished entrepreneurs and now mental health communicator. If you’re curious about ADHD you’ll want to hear this talk. If you’re sceptical about ADHD, you need to hear this talk.

About Alex Partridge

Alex Partridge was originally known as the founder of social media content pioneers UNILAD and LADbible. Since exiting his startups he’s gone on to become a leading voice in the neurodiversity space, dedicated to unpacking the complexities of living and working with ADHD.

Through his young life and startup years Alex masked hidden struggles with burnout, anxiety and addiction. At age 34, a late diagnosis of ADHD radically reshaped Alex’s worldview. It provided a profound insight into his mental health battles and explained the “boom-and-bust” cycles of his early career.

Today, Alex has channeled this revelation into a powerful advocacy platform. He is now Host of ADHD Chatter, a chart-topping UK podcast with over 1m followers on Instagram and reaching hundreds of thousands of listeners each month, where he explores the nuances of neurodivergence with experts and peers.

Alex is also the author of the instant Sunday Times bestseller Now It All Makes Sense, offering a raw look at how he’s navigated life post-diagnosis. His latest book, Why Does Everybody Hate Me, was recently published in March 2026 by Sheldon Press, an imprint of Hachette.
